Learning and development

Our learning and development activities are based around our core consulting offerings. We can provide training for all skill levels and for all requirements: from needing to raise awareness to providing in-depth training to practitioners, for people at the operational sharp-end of your business, to the Board.
We offer fully tailored training solutions and off-the-shelf (and therefore cheaper) packages. We have some core beliefs about any kind of learning activity. We believe it should:

Grab your attention
We firmly believe that the ‘standard’ classroom training session (OHP, lecturers, dozens of slides, etc) is usually ineffective. Delegates do not engage, they switch off. We seek to create an ‘experience’ – i.e. an event that is as compelling as a book that one can’t put down. The content must be relevant, interesting and must add value to the organisation after the course. How many presentations have you seen and forgotten? Experiences change people’s actions, not lectures.

Inspire
When was the last time you decided to significantly change the way you do your job after attending a training course? We do not want delegates to leave our courses thinking that it was "useful"... we determine to have delegates leave our courses feeling "inspired" by what they have seen, heard and done. Our aim is that delegates are unstoppable in putting what they have learned into immediate practice.

Be enjoyable
Can you remember the winning goal in the 1992 cup final but can’t remember a fact you were told yesterday? We remember what stimulates us. People like to enjoy themselves. We are all able to concentrate more on things that entertain us. Most importantly, we remember vastly more about events that we have enjoyed. For these reasons we determinedly believe that training should be enjoyable. Everyone enjoys different things and we therefore seek to create very varied courses that will appeal to all learning styles and personal approaches. This is achieved without in any way ignoring or trivialising the training message or the nature of our client's work.

The packages below can be integrated to provide comprehensive business improvement training packages. And, we can build a training package to precisely meet your requirements.

We offer training in:

Organisational design
Key skills, tools, techniques, tips and traps when designing or reviewing an organisation, whether strategically-driven , or as a result of new processes, systems or culture change initiatives.
Process improvement
We will use your existing process improvement methodology (if appropriate) as the basis of the programme. We’ll explore process improvement approaches at a team, functional, product or organisational level.
Culture change and behaviour development
How to run culture change projects; and we design learning interventions that help people get to grips with the new behaviours required of them.
Change management
Everything from ‘why bother to manage change?’ to practical tools and techniques for taking an organisation through a period of transition.

Enabling skills
For example, consulting skills; facilitation and workshop design; team events; stakeholder management and influencing; coaching'.
